Managing Principal Partner of SOEYA Consult
Yeside is the managing consultant with SOEYA Consult, a leading insurance training firm. She is a lawyer, an astute insurance professional and trainer with over three decades of experience in the Nigerian insurance industry.  She recently retired as the pioneer Rector of the College of Insurance and Financial Management (CIFM), Nigeria. Yeside was instrumental to the manpower development for various arms of the Nigerian insurance industry during her tenure.
Under her leadership, the CIFM rose from an annual income of N38m in 2015 to N289m in 2022 despite the pandemic. She was instrumental to CIFM’s partnership with various international organisations such as the Impact Insurance Facility of the ILO, GIZ, Actuaries Without Boarders (AWB) and Insurance Training Centre (ITC) Uganda. She also designed and organised various mandatory training programmes including the Bancassurance Certification and Retiree Life Annuity training, which were approved by the NAICOM, the regulatory body in Nigeria.
Yeside is the Chairperson of the PILA (Professional Insurance Ladies Association) Constitution Amendment Committee and a member of the CIIN (Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria) Enabling Law Review Committee in Nigeria. Similarly, she has been a member of the AIO Book Award Committee for over five years.
Yeside holds bachelor’s degrees in Sociology (1988) and Law (2005) from Lagos State University and master’s degrees in general management from University of Lagos (2001). She also has a master’s degree in legal studies from University of Leicester, UK (1992) where she obtained a PhD in Law with specialisation in Insurance Law and Regulation (2013). She became an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) UK in 1993 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007
Yeside is a public speaker who has delivered several technical workshops in insurance (including microinsurance and takaful), insurance regulation and management. While she continues to publish articles in academic journals locally and internationally, her most recent work is the chapter on ‘Pension Regulation’ in the recently published book sponsored by the Pension Commission titled ‘Fundamental of Pension System’
